Previously each chapel had its own full time minister. But now one minister has to look after as many as six chapels. Their main duty officiating at funerals of the elderly membership.

It is remarkable that these buildings were erected in the latter half of the nineteenth century, not with funds provided by government, the established church or wealthy benefactors, but through contributions of half-pence and pence from the chapels members.

For the last week I have been attempting to capture the quickly disappearing character of a small West Wales Town. A long time before the World financial crises, the area was in decline, recent events has accelerated the process.
