    Yeah, I can just see the dirty look radiating off of those faces. “Back off my nest”…”Get out of my lake!” Proud indeed ;)

    I got within 50 feet of a swan’s nest once and the male came charging after me. Do you have a super zoom lens or are the swans more docile there?

    No & yes, Lynn :)

    The shots were taken with a Canon G9 P&S and a Nikon D40 with a 18~55mm lens.

    There are about 35 swans in the lake. The cob keeps them all in one far corner of the lake. He does visit the nest, but most of the time he keeps about 200m away. They are all docile having been brought up being fed bread by children.
