In London light-posts are located at the edge of the pavement (US sidewalk), so the light overhangs the road. In Llanelli, (Wales), the posts are sited on the other side, so the light is directly over the pavement. This constitutes a double hazard:
- Seagulls site on the lights and sh*t on the heads of people as they walk underneath.
- The Locals are aware of the danger and walk around looking upwards, this results in them tripping over holes in the pavement.
But a seagull on a street light is a photographic opportunity, especially if the moon is in the background.
