What a stink

The longest day – I should be outside in the garden enjoying the sunshine, but here I am inside with the doors and windows firmly closed. Why?

I do not know the correct name, I’ve always referred to them as Black Lilies. They look very exotic, and that long black erection pointing out of the centre is 9inch (23cm) long and about 3/4 inch (2cm) in diameter.

The problem with having these flowers in the garden is, flies not bees are the pollinators. To attract flies the flower lets out a very strong odour best described as a blocked sewer. So here I sit avoiding the flies and smell.
