Not this time

I normally paticipate in the Digital Photography Review’s Canon Talk forum’s Mini-Challenge, but I’m giving a miss to the current challenge. Why? The topic is Travel, which has attracted numerous entries. But are photographs of sunsts and exotic locations truely a test of a photographers skill and creativity? Nature has already done 99.999% of the work.

A challenge is trying to take a photgraph of a not very atractive wall, (not that I’m claiming the above even closely approximates a good photograph).

Nature’s power

The topic of the current Challenge, in the Canon Talk Forum on the Digital Camera Review web site, is Power.

Scratched my head to think of suitable images. The first thing that came to mind was the image of a steam engine belching steam and smoke – regrettable no longer an everyday event. So I had to fall back on a more mundane image, but nevertheless just as valid an example of power, and that is the power of nature. Small plants, which you can effortlessly squash between your fingers, force their way between cracks in the pavement (US sidewalk).
